Sportsbooks For Boston Red Sox

Since coming out of its World Series drought in 2004, the Boston Red Sox’ performance has been very much a rollercoaster ride. Despite Boston having captured World Series titles in 2007 and 2013, last season happened to have been a low point for the Red Sox, who finished 78-84 and came out last place in AL East for the second straight season and the third time since 2012. It is every fan’s hope that Boston will somehow climb back out of its trough in the 2016 season. [+]

Despite their recent struggles, the Boston Red Sox are one of the oldest and most decorated teams in the Major League Baseball franchise. Established in 1901, Boston was the original home of MLB legend Babe Ruth until his trade to the New York Yankees in 1919. After capturing its fifth World Series in 1918, Boston went without a single championship title for the next 86 years, a superstition that fans came to know as “the curse of Bambino”. Still, this didn’t prevent Hall of Famers like Joe Cronin, Ted Williams, and many others from making illustrious careers with the team. It was also during this time that the Red Sox established their iconic rivalry with the Yankees.

Who Do The Boston Red Sox Play Next

If you’re a long-time fan of the Red Sox, then you’re probably on the lookout for Boston’s next series of games against the New York Yankees. [+]

While the Red Sox’ long-time rivalry with the Yankees is always worthwhile to follow, remember to not miss out on games against other opponents either. Every opponent can influence the team’s destiny as much as the Yankees could. Hopefully there won’t be another Bambino curse.

Recounting the Accomplishments: David Ortiz

With over 100 years of history, the Boston Red Sox have had no shortage of stellar performances from all-time greats like Ted Williams, Jim Rice, Pedro Martinez, and many others. One of the team’s current players – David Ortiz – is on the road to earning this similar distinction.

Having reached the age of 40 by the end of the 2015 season, the star slugger has announced that he will call it a career by the end of the 2016 season. Ortiz joined the Red Sox in 2003 after five previous seasons with the Minnesota Twins. Despite his humble beginnings as an MLB player, Ortiz became a six-time Silver Slugger and nine-time All-Star since making his debut with Boston. As a true force to be reckoned with on the batting plate, the Dominican slugger made the highlight of his career when he became the 27th player in MLB history to hit 500 career home runs. If he can strike at two or more homers in the 2016 season, he will surpass Eddie Murray’s record of 504.
