Located on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois are the National League Major League Baseball team Chicago Cubs, one of the founding members of the National League back in 1876. Although the Cubs are one of the longest-running teams in MLB, they have not enjoyed a level of success that their loyal following would like, with their last World Series title coming in 1908, meaning they have not won the World Series for 107 years, the longest championship drought of any major North American professional sports team.
Despite this drought, the Chicago Cubs are many sportsbook’s favorites to go all the way and clinch their third World Series title (approx. +700 beforte the first game).
They came agonisingly close in 2015, first beating rivals St.Louis Cardinals three-games to one in the National League Division Series, but were swept at the hands of the New York Mets on the NCLS.
Could this be the Cubs’ year? Many bookmakers think so, are you willing to bet on it?

Is 2016 The Year the Chicago Cubs End Their World Series Drought?
The Cubs have strengthened their roster in the close season, which goes some way to explain sportsbetting sites’ faith in them. The signing of slugger Jason Heyward from arch rivals St Louis Cardinals was a major coup.
Heyward had a great 2015 season with the Cardinals, finishing with .293/.359/.439 with 13 home runs, and 23 steals from 26 attempts. If Hayward can reproduce similar form for his new team, the Cubs may well live up to the hype in 2016 and that long-awaited World Series title could be heading to Illinois.
It is also worth noting that The Cubs hold the major league record for the most number of consecutive seasons without being no-hit. While they were no-hit by Cole Hamels on July 25, 2015, the last time they were no-hit prior was back in September 1965!
