While last place teams like the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs, and San Diego Padres find themselves double-digit games back of their respective division leaders, there’s no such gap in the AL East. The Blue Jays are hosting the Red Sox in Toronto this weekend and while they sit fourth and fifth respectively, a weekend of sweeps would move one of them into a tie for second place in the tough American League East.
Motown Hosts Tigers vs. Yankees Weekend Showdown
New York is just 1.5 games back in the AL East and the Tigers are five games out of first in the American League Central – both teams are currently sitting in third in their respective divisions. The Bronx Bombers have won six of their last ten games while the Tigers, who have been one of the more under-achieving teams in all of baseball, have lost six of ten. Even though they now play in different divisions – there’s still no love lost between these former American League East foes. We love it when these two clubs clash!
