MLB American League Standings: Tight At The Top
With the Boys of Summer heading into the fall playoff chase, there are some great races going on in the three American League Baseball Divisions.
As we head into the second half of August, the MLB American League standings are tight at the top! This is going to make for some exciting sports betting action down the stretch as many teams now have 40 or less games to play.
With the AL East Division race tied, five games separating the leaders in the AL West and 3.5 games separating the top three teams in the AL Central, this will be baseball at its best as we head towards the 2011 MLB Playoffs.
American League East Division: Yankees – Boston Tied At The Top
As has been the case for years now, New York and Boston will battle to the wire for the AL East crown. The loser of this race will win the Wild Card berth. The Red Sox and Yankees are currently tied with identical 73-46 records.
American League Central Division: Three Horse Race
Perhaps the most intriguing division in baseball finds the Tigers (64-57), Indians (60-57) and the White Sox (60-60) separated by just 3.5 games. With each team having two series left against each other, the AL Central Division race will have a thrilling, must see, stretch run.
American League West Division: Rangers Starting To Romp
Five days ago the Texas Rangers (70-52) were clinging to a two game lead over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 65-57). Since then, the Rangers have won four straight games, while the Angels have dropped three games in a row to fall five games back in the AL West Division.
