The reigning NFC East champions enter the 2016 season as one of the frontrunners to repeat their 2015-16 success. Though Dallas sustained some massive injuries to their offensive cast of stars in 2015, the Redskins still have some weapons that can push both the Cowboys and the rest of the NFC East to the edge once again. The main focal point for the Redskins on offense will be the maturation of quarterback Kirk Cousins. Since taking over from Robert Griffin III, the touted franchise savior, Cousins has proven that he can be a reliable starter.
He led the Redskins to their first playoff appearance since RG3’s rookie season in 2012.
The Michigan State product has succeeded RG3 as the undisputed quarterback in Washington. The former Heisman Trophy winner departed to the Cleveland Browns after losing his job to Cousins. Cousins was picked in the third round of the same 2012 draft, but has proved his critics that he can be a winner in Washington.
Cousins set multiple Redskins franchise passing records during the course of the season and will have to rely on a more consistent backfield in 2016. Alfred Morris, who racked up over 1,600 yards in Cousins’s rookie season, has since regressed and was let go during the offseason. Running back Matt Jones and a slew of other unproven backs have taken his place.
While the backfield is somewhat of a mystery, the Redskins have a cast of receivers that can stretch the field. Dynamic DeSean Jackson is at the top of that list. The Cal product is still one of the fastest players in the NFL and will have another weapon at his disposal, with the addition of 2016 first round draft pick Josh Doctson, to take some pressure off his shoulders.
Veteran Pierre Garcon rounds out the receiving corps. Offensive tackle Trent Williams is also one of the best in the game at his position. Washington will have one of the more dynamic passing offenses in the NFC to protect once the 2016 season kicks off.

How To Make Money Betting On Washington Redskins
Though the Redskins are very much a passing attack on offense, the strength of the Washington defense relies in their front seven.
The Redskins feature a number of high draft pick players that make up their defensive line. Former first round draft picks Ziggy Hood and Kendall Reyes are players that can generate some run-stopping efforts in the 3-4 defense of Washington. Steohen Paea is one of the strongest players in the NFL and Ricky Jean-Francois is a crafty veteran who has a nose for big plays and finding his way to the football.
Beyond the defensive line, linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is potentially the best player Washington posesses on defense. The linebacker was a Pro Bowl selection in 2012 and has made a solid transition to the position after his collegiate days at Purdue along the defense line. Also keep your eye on fellow linebackers Junior Galette and Preston Smith. Both will be relied on heavily again to make an impact and force pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
The signing of former Carolina Panther Josh Norman to a mega-contract is the most notable addition to the Washington defense. Norman was one of the best defensive backs in the league last season and was paid handsomely by Redskins owner Daniel Snyder to join a defensive backfield featuring safety DeAngelo Hall and cornerback Dashaun Phillips.
Hall is the veteran of the backfield but the additions of rookies Kendall Fuller and Su’a Cravens will take the pressure off the older players. Norman will be tested often this season with two matchups each against the Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. and the Cowboys’ Dez Bryant.
