Sportsbooks For Los Angeles Rams

This season will mark the first time since 1994 that the Rams will be back in the Greater Los Angeles area. After deciding to void their lease at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, the Rams will begin play at the L.A. Coliseum throughout this season. With a move back to one of the top two major markets in America, the spotlight on the Rams will be huge this season. While Los Angeles faltered to a 7-9 record in 2015, the franchise is hopeful they can rebound around a solid core of young talent on offense. [+]

The key component among those offensive players is star second-year running back Todd Gurley. The former University of Georgia standout was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2015 and was named to the Pro Bowl at the end of the season.

Many experts had doubts on whether Gurley could return to form following a catastrophic knee injury that took place during his final season at Georgia. He silenced the critics when he rushed for over a 1,000 yards in less than a full season during his rookie year. Gurley is primed for another big year, and if he can stay healthy, then he is going to be one of the top five best running backs in the NFL. Joining Gurley in the backfield at quarterback is a lot more uncertain. The Rams drafted Jared Goff of Cal first overall in the 2016 draft but he is not expected to start the season opener. In his place will be one of two veteran quarterbacks in Nick Foles or Case Keenum. The former has been the Rams starter before, but he has entered contract disputes with L.A. since his role for the future is uncertain. Keenum could potentially start but you can at least depend on the Rams being a solid running team.

The Rams receiving corps has some potential upside to look out for as well. The dynamic and versatile Tavon Austin leads the way and is flanked by possession receivers Kenny Britt and Brian Quick. The Rams drafted Pharoh Cooper in the fourth round of the NFL Draft and also selected two rookie tight ends in the draft (Temarrick Hemingway and Tyler Higbee). Though they do have some talent, the Rams offense will have to rely on Gurley and running back bruiser Tre Mason to make a push for the NFC West crown. Offensive lineman Greg Robinson will play a big part in that resurgence as well.

How To Make Money Betting On Los Angeles Rams

Profiled by numerous sporting outlets across the United States, including Sports Illustrated and ESPN, the Rams defensive line is one of the best units in the NFL.

Though Los Angeles lost former first round draft pick and team leader in Chris Long, they still feature a perennial All-Pro in Aaron Donald. Donald is flanked by Pro Bowler Robert Quinn and former first round draft picks Michael Brockers and Quinton Coples.

The group has been heralded by many journalists as also the deepest unit in the league with William Hayes and Dominique Easley adding to the talent. Though L.A. did also lose mammoth defensive tackle Nick Fairley, the Rams front four will be nasty again in 2016.

Los Angeles certainly has a talented defensive line and they will be relied on heavily to bring up a relatively young back seven. Linebacker Alec Ogletree is another leader to watch on the defense and so is safety turned outside linebacker Mark Barron.

Barron played a hybrid position similar to this at the University of Alabama but will face concerns on whether his size will be a factor in 2016. Akeem Ayers, Cameron Lynch and Matthew Wells are all solid players but none are spectacular as of last season, though they do have room to develop more.

The defensive backs are even more of a mystery but cornerback Trumaine Johnson is an up-and-coming playmaker who broke out somewhat in 2015. Florida State’s Lamarcus Joyner is another player who could break out in 2016 as a former second round pick. Beyond that, the group is fairly inexperienced and could be a big weakness if the Rams defensive line struggles to keep up their torrid pace.
