It seems like not too much time passes without another fun, major tennis tournament arriving. That's right, people are still talking about how things went down at Wimbledon, but the focus has also shifted to the U.S. Open. There's going to be a loaded field and everyone will be gunning for the title. Having said that, Jannik Sinner is a small favorite to win the 2025 U.S. Open. Will he come out on top?
Sinner was the champion at Wimbledon, taking down Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling showdown in the final. Those two are without question the top two tennis players on the planet and plenty of people think they could meet again in the U.S. Open. For Sinner, he's ranked No. 1 in the world and he's going to be entering this tourney with plenty of confidence after what he got done at Wimbledon.

"I had a very tough loss in Paris. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how you win or you lose the important tournaments," Sinner said after winning Wimbledon. "You just have to understand what you did wrong. Trying to work on that -- that's exactly what we did. We tried to accept the loss and then just kept working. And this is, for sure, why I'm holding this trophy here."

Believe it or not, Carlos Alcaraz is our pick to win the 2025 U.S. Open. Alcaraz is going to have a ton of motivation to win this tournament, especially after how things went for him at Wimbledon. Alcaraz was in a great spot to win yet another major, but Sinner beat him in four sets. Keep in mind that Alcaraz won the first set, but then Sinner won the next three. Alcaraz previously beat him in the French Open final.
"I just left the court with the head really, really high because I did everything that I could today," Alcaraz said after the heartbreaking loss to Sinner in the Wimbledon final. "I just want to think, OK, I just played a final in a Grand Slam, and try to forget that I lost it. It's just about [the fact] I was able to play in it. So, right now I'm not bad at all. I'm just happy."

It's of course not going to be easy for her, as there are other top contenders ready to make noise.
The long list of course includes Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, who will enter the tournament with a chip on their shoulder. Sabalenka holds the top odds, but that doesn't mean she's just going to cruise to a victory. Nope, Swiatek and Gauff will look to make things tough on her.
Leading up to the first round of the tournament in August, people are convinced that Sabalenka is going to lift the silverware high into the sky after the final round. We think that will prove to be the case, as we're picking Sabalenka to win the title. It will be interesting to see if that happens for her or not.
