Preview British Grand Prix

First things first though, let’s take a hard look at the current betting odds. These are available at top betting sites for sports, and offer a good preview of what’s ahead at the British Grand Prix. As it stands, the following drivers are favorites to win out:

Checo Bagnaia+100+100+100
Jorge Martin+460+460+460
Marco Bezzecchi+680+680+680
Marc Marquez+780+780+780
Jack Miller+1000+1000+1000
Brad Binder+1400+1400+1400

This is an important race — not just because the world championship standings are close. After eight rounds, the reigning world champion, Bagnaia, is ahead of the pack with 194 points (four wins total). But two riders trail him closely. In second, there’s Rins at 159 points and Bezzecchi third with 158. The British GP offers each a chance to set the tone per se for the second half of the season. The same goes for the rest of the grid, but let’s be real, it’s really a three-rider race for No. 1 right now.

Ironically (or not), all three riders drive for Ducati — Bezzecchi and Rins are satellite drivers. The team’s utter dominance in the first half of the season has been nothing short of amazing. Get this, Ducatis have won seven of the eight grand prix races so far. Heck, even in the newly-added sprint races, the team is up to six wins. KTM’s Brad Binder is the only rider that’s giving Ducati competition.

The British GP will tell, but we don’t foresee any new riders stepping up to compete in what’s left of the season. Ex-world champion Fabio Quartararo has been a non-factor, mainly due to an underwhelming Yamaha bike. Marc Marquez is a factor — when healthy, but that’s rare. Honda’s entire team has been cursed with injuries this year.

MotoGP British GP Predictions To Win

Per usual, we’ll be making more than one prediction to win the British GP. MotoGP just demands it since it’s a tad more unpredictable than, say, Formula 1. But that’s especially the case at Silverstone because the last seven events have all produced different winners. But after analyzing the field, we’re confidently backing these two riders:

Francesco Bagnaia

This one’s obvious, isn’t it? Really, the biggest challenge to Bagnaia’s dominance is usually himself. He’s prone to crashing out with a DNF (two times this season already), but when that doesn’t happen, it’s almost a guarantee he’ll be in the top-2.

Bagnaia has won two of the three previous races and finished runner-up in the non-winner. So he was on his usual tear before the summer break. Unless something catastrophic happens in the second half, he should be an automatic bet to win every single race from here on out.

Marco Bezzecchi

Bezzecchi has been the surprise rider of the whole season. Early on, there were thoughts of fluke, but he’s stayed consistent through the first half of the season. The Italian racked up a pair of victories and four podium finishes — ending the “flash in the pan” talk abruptly.

We’re picking him here because he has a high peak when things go well. Let us remember the Dutch Grand Prix. Back in June right before the break, Bezzecchi smashed the Assen lap record in qualifying. Despite the pole position, Bagnaia did edge him to win the race — by under two seconds. Still, the youngster Bezzecchi proved he was virtually an equal of the defending champion.

Bezzecchi is also our bet here cause he has more of a “boom” potential than someone like Martin who competes, but rarely ever wins. You can’t go wrong with a two-pronged approach of Bezzecchi and Bagnaia as far as we’re concerned.
