The betting field is absolutely loaded in this event. We could realistically see five different skiers gutting out a gold medal here. However, if we can only make one cross country skiing pick it would be Johannes Hosflot Klaebo of Norway. He had his "coming out party" at these games in 2018, but we believe he's ready for the "big time" four years later.
To jog your memory, the Norwegian became the youngest male to ever win an Olympic event in cross-country skiing at the ripe age of 21. He added two more golds in South Korea, tying him for the most in the 2018 Games. If he could do that as a relative newcomer, then the sky really is the limit in Beijing. Klaebo performed well at the recent World Cup too so the momentum is there. We sure like Klaebo's betting value at +275!

Norway are overwhelming favorites to win the most gold medals in 2022, and for good reason. The Norwegians had the greatest showing of a single country at these games four years ago. In Pyeongchang, they claimed a record of 39 medals in total with 14 of them being gold.
After that historic showing, Norway has widened the gap between them and the United States in the all-time medal count at the Winter Olympics. They are now up to 368 — 63 ahead of the United States and 128 in front of third-place Germany. All things considered, that -500 betting line might be on the light side given Norway's all-time dominance in winter sports.
But you know what? We're still not going to bet on Norway here. There's just not a lot of money to be made on -500 odds unless you have a massive — and we mean massive — betting bankroll.
