European Championships Game 10 Preamble

France may have booked its spot in the round of 16, but the two-time European champions have some unfinished business. They will look to finish group play with an unbeaten record when they face Switzerland on Sunday.

France (-102) Vs Switzerland (+470)

Having already cemented its place to the knockout stage, France will be looking to stay undefeated when they face Switzerland in their final Group A match on Sunday.

France sits at the top of the group with six points, while Switzerland is lurking right behind with four. Bovada’s line had these to sides finishing at the top of Group A with France in first (-375) and the Swiss second (+350).

France advanced to the round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Albania with late goals from Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet.

Switzerland will be desperate for at least a single point and may play it safe for a draw, which would also help them secure a berth to the round of 16. Bovada has a +200 line that the game will end in draw.

France has been red-hot on home soil with seven straight victories at the European Championships. But don’t bank on France getting the match’s first goal in the opening 45 minutes — nine of the team’s last 10 goals have come in the second half.

Bovada has a line of +105 that France will score first en route to defeating Switzerland.

France has only conceded one goal in its opening two matches and Bovada has a +160 line they will record a shutout victory.

The online sportsbook also pegs French striker Olivier Giroud at +175 to score at any point of the match. Giroud is closing in on 20 international goals — he sits at 18 — in 50 matches played.

On the other side, Haris Seferovic is Switzerland’s best shot of getting on the scoresheet as Bovada has the striker pegged at +300 to net a goal at any point of the match. Seferovic has yet to find the back of the net but will be hungry to carry Switzerland to the round of 16.

While all signs point to a potential draw, France is eager to close out group play with an unblemished record. They’ll do just that with a one-goal victory.

Pick: France (-102)

Romania (+116) Vs Albania (+253)

Romania is clinging on to life at Euro 2016. With just a single point, they’ll need a victory on Sunday against a pesky Albania team, as well as receive a little help in the other Group A match in order to have a shot at the round of 16.

The Romanians earned a point with a draw against Switzerland — meaning a Romania win against Albania and a Swiss loss to France would put both sides at four points a piece and force a tiebreaker, which is goal differential.

Albania may be underdogs, but the Euro 2016 newcomers have made life difficult for both France and Switzerland in previous group matches. Romania can expect much of the same.

The Romanians will be hungry for a victory and will be determined from the start. Bovada has a line of +280 of Romania winning by a one-goal count.

romania

The online sportsbook also has Romania at +120 to score first and walk away with the victory.

When determining who will net the game’s first goal, look no further than Romanian midfielder Nicolae Stanciu, who’s been nothing short of spectacular during his brief international career.

Stanciu, who has four international goals in six matches, netted a goal in Romania’s draw against Switzerland. Bovada has the 23 year old pegged at +200 to score at any point of the match.

At the other end, Sokol Cikalleshi is at +350 to score Albania’s opening goal.

This match will be close and likely end in a draw — Bovada has a +255 line set for that outcome.

Pick: Draw (+240)
