Bet This Driver To Win 2024 F1 Title

The Formula 1 season just started — do you have your future bets in yet? If not, you’re going to want to read this. We have analyzed the 2024 season and were ready to lay bets on these drivers to win the 2024 F1 championship.

2024 Formula 1 Preview

We’re one race down already, and it may have previewed what’s in store for the 2024 season. The Bahrain Grand Prix was this past weekend, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen blew away the competition. Surprise, we know. He finished 22.4 seconds ahead of the runner-up, his teammate, Sergio Perez. The next-best driver was Carlos Sainz Jr., whose Ferrari car finished 25 seconds back of Verstappen.

Just about everyone expects the 2024 season to go like 2023 did: Verstappen dominating everyone. He won his third straight title in 2023, but this one was in historic fashion. Verstappen won 19 of 23 races — securing the championship by early October in a sprint race, not even a Grand Prix. Verstappen also set the record for most laps led and was never seriously challenged during the season. Not once.

For this reason, Verstappen is a staggering favorite to win a fourth straight title in 2024 by the best betting sites. Just take a look at the current 2024 F1 championship odds:

Not only is Verstappen back, but there are just about no changes that could stop his dominance. Legitimately, almost nothing has changed from last season to this one. Rule changes have been minimal. No drivers switched teams. Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari, but that’s not until 2025. He’ll finish out this year with Mercedes, but no one expects him to compete with Verstappen like 2021 (the last competitive year in the sport).

So is this championship futures bet as easily as taking Verstappen? Well, no. As we’re about to explain, you’ll have to get a little more creative if you want to make money off this wager.

Best Bets For 2024 Formula 1 Title

Look, barring catastrophe, Verstappen is probably going to win the 2024 F1 title. You’re talking crazy if you say otherwise. This level of dominance is unprecedented. However, that doesn’t mean Verstappen is the “best bet.”

At -750 odds, there’s just about no money to be made off taking Verstappen — unless you have thousands of dollars lying around. We do not have that luxury, therefore, we’re gonna take some gambles. That’s what we’re here for anyway, right? Let’s say catastrophe does strike Verstappen. That would create a killer betting opportunity for someone else to take the F1 title. This scenario is the basis for our betting advice here.

If there’s one person who can challenge Verstappen, then it almost has to be from within Red Bell. Yes, we’re talking about Perez. What he has going for him that Verstappen does as well is the Red Bull car, that’s likely the best in the entire circuit. That machine gives Perez a chance in every race.

Not only that, but Perez might be feeling the heat to be even better in 2024. See, the Mexican driver finished second overall in 2023 and even won two of four races that Verstappen didn’t. But even then, there’s pressure to keep his seat at Red Bull. Perez famously crashed at Monaco qualifying and had two DNFs toward the end of the season. That might not be enough to live up to Red Bull’s lofty standards. Perhaps Perez rises to the occasion?

I think it’s worth throwing a prayer bet on Perez, especially at +3500 odds. With that type of betting line, even a small wager can pay out quite nicely if this wild upset happens. That’s a big if, we know, but Perez is a way better underdog bet than Hamilton (who is almost 40 years old), Leclerc (a constant underachiever over the years), or Landon Norris.
