Nate Diaz (19-10) sent the fighting world into bedlam when he submitted Conor McGregor (19-3) via rear naked choke in the second round. During the fight Diaz ate numerous big shots from McGregor and plowed onwards. McGregor's left hand has been savage in his career thus far, delivering him 17 KO/TKO victories from his 19 fights including a 13-second KO of former featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

The Irish superstar jumped up two weight classes for this fight after his scheduled fight at 155lbs with Rafael Dos Anjos fell through. After the fight we saw very subdued Conor as he admitted that he was used to guys 'crumbling' after taking such shots and that Nate 'took them shots very well', alluding to the weight jump as a major reason for the loss. Before the fight many believed Conor would be too fast for Diaz. Even Diaz himself was not his usual brass self in the build up. He gave the champ a lot of respect and sprayed very little trash talk.
