The AFC South is a division of the National Football League (NFL) that was created in time for the 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after it expanded to 32 teams. Since its creation, the AFC South has had the same four members in it, namely Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans. The Texas did not exist before the 2002, both the Titans and Jaguars belonged to AFC Central, while the Colts were a member of the AFC East.
With a total of nine AFC South titles, the Indianapolis Colts are the most successful team of the division. Up until the start of the 2016 season, the Colts had won two NFL league crowns, and two Super Bowl wins from four appearances.
In fact, the Colts are the only AFC South team to win a Super Bowl, doing so in 2006 when they defeated the Chicago bears 29-17 in Florida.
The AFC South has some of the best players in the NFL competing in it, including Defensive End of the Texans J.J. Watt, the Quarterback of the Colts Andrew Luck, and the Wide Receiver of the Texans DeAndre Hopkins.
