- What: 2025 NBA Playoffs
- Who: New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics in Game 5
- Where: TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts
- How to watch: ESPN
Who in the world saw this coming? Before the playoffs even got here, the assumption was that the Boston Celtics would have no issues taking down teams in their way and then move on to the NBA Finals. However, the C's are now one loss away from their season ending. That's right, the Knicks are now overwhelming favorites to beat Boston in their 2025 series. Is a stunner on the way?
This has been a surprising series, as New York was able to win the first two games in Boston, which no one expected. Not only that, but the Knicks were down by at least 20 points in both of those games. The Celtics were able to win Game 4, but New York responded with a huge win in Game 4. With one more victory, New York will move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

“They’ve been special all year,” Karl-Anthony Towns said of the NY fans on hand for Game 4. “When you have the fans we have and you have the city that supports you the way our city does, anything is possible. It’s because of them we have such a joy in our hearts coming to work everyday. Shoutout to them for sticking with us through the ebbs and flows of the season.”
According to the best sports betting sites, the Knicks now hold -620 NBA betting odds to move on. Things aren't looking great for the Celtics, as they've been given +460 odds per the top sportsbooks for NBA Playoffs. While the Celtics indeed are one of the best teams out there, we think a 3-1 deficit will be too much for them to overcome. We're going with the Knicks as our pick.
THIS IS INSANE. #Knicks

Will New York be able to wrap things up in Game 5?
A question a lot of people have on their minds is will New York be able to wrap things up in Game 5? It's going to be a close call. NY fans would feel a lot better about things if this game was played at Madison Square Garden, but things are heading back to Boston. Jaylen Brown and Co. are going to be motivated to silence the haters, especially after Jayson Tatum suffered his serious injury.
As most of you know by now, Tatum, who was in the middle of one of the best games of his career, suffered a torn Achilles in the loss to New York on Monday night. It was heartbreaking to see. He's now out for the rest of the season and Boston is going to have to try and navigate things without him. Brown will lead the way, while veteran Al Horford is ready to pick up his teammates too.
Jayson Tatum today underwent successful surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon. No timetable is currently available for his return, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Further updates will be provided when appropriate. pic.twitter.com/TTXziFtMQB

Look for Jalen Brunson to light up the hardwood and power his team to a memorable win. Yup, we're going with the Knicks and their -110 odds per the top NBA betting sites to win Game 5. They'll wrap up the series by doing so.
Minnesota should finish off Golden State in Game 5 as well
Taking a look at the Western Conference, Minnesota should finish off Golden State in Game 5 as well. Anthony Edwards continues to look like one of the best players in the sport and he's giving the Warriors' defense all kinds of issues. He's simply been sensational with the ball in his hands.
Thus far, the Timberwolves have barely broken a sweat in jumping out to a 3-1 lead. Yes, Golden State also has a ton of talent and veteran experience, which is why a lot of people think this series may not be over and done with just yet.
However, it's not often that we see a team come all the way back from a 3-1 deficit. With how solid the Timberwolves have looked too, it's going to take a bit of a miracle for the Warriors to dig themselves out of the hole they're currently in. We don't see it happening, which is why we're going with Minnesota as our pick to Win Game 5 to close things out against Golden State.
