How To Bet NBA 2019-20 Season Futures

How To Bet NBA 2019-20 Season Futures

After a wild summer of league-wide shakeups, the NBA returns to regular-season action on October 22. What’s to make of this new NBA landscape? We try to provide clarity while offering our free picks for conference and NBA titles in this in-depth betting guide!

With less than a month until the NBA regular season tips off, these three teams currently have the best 2019-20 NBA championship odds:

  • Los Angeles Lakers (+300)
  • Los Angeles Clippers (+350)
  • Milwaukee Bucks (+600)

Before we hand out our free NBA picks, make sure to check out the bonus offers available at many sportsbooks. Taking advantage of these can multiply winnings many times over!

2020 Western Conference Championship Odds

Let's begin out West, where most of NBA supremacy calls home. In a stacked conference, these five teams have the top NBA betting odds to advance to the NBA Finals:

  • Los Angeles Clippers (+200)
  • Los Angeles Lakers (+260)
  • Houston Rockets (+500)
  • Golden State Warriors (+650)
  • Utah Jazz (+850)

We'd love to understand how the Clippers have better conference odds than the Lakers, yet lower NBA title odds — mathematically, that just doesn't add up whatsoever (we don't make the odds, we just advise against them).

Anyway, most seem to believe the battle for LA will also be the battle for the West (and with that, the NBA at-large). We too belong to that crowd.

Anytime you have two top-10 players on your roster — as both the Lakers and Clippers do — you're automatic title contenders. However, after the "big two" is where you see these teams' true colors.

The Clippers have depth with Lou Williams (a scorching-hot shooter), Pat Beverly (a lockdown defender), and Montrez Harrell (a pick-and-roll machine).

The Lakers? Its roster is dotted with one has-been after another — Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGree, and most of all, Dwight Howard. One day, Lakers' brass will understand the value of shooting in 2019.

We think the Clippers are clearly ahead of the Lakers. Not just in-depth, but in the star power of its "big two" as well. Without question, Kawhi Leonard proved he's the best basketball player on the planet last season (with no disrespect to LeBron James).

Paul George should continue to thrive in the sidekick superstar role, too, something that might not go over as well with Anthony Davis.

Worth mentioning, however, the Lakers and Clippers are one injury to a superstar away from crumbling. Considering the recent injury history of all four of its stars, it's not an unlikely scenario one will go down during the season.

In the event that does happen, the Jazz could steal the West. Here's a team that finished second in defensive efficiency a year ago then added a proven scorer like Mike Conley over the summer. All the while, third-year Donovan Mitchell could blossom to a top-10 player in his own right. At +850, this is as good of a darkhorse bet as you'll find.

Pick: Clippers (+200)

2020 Eastern Conference Championship Odds

While the East might not be as competitive as the West, it just might be a bigger crapshoot with an anyone-can-win feel. Sportsbooks currently have these five teams as frontrunners to win the conference:

  • Milwaukee Bucks (+150)
  • Philadelphia 76ers (+220)
  • Boston Celtics (+700)
  • Brooklyn Nets (+1000)
  • Toronto Raptors (+1100)

Like the West, it feels like a two-team race with Milwaukee and Philadelphia ahead of everyone based on pure talent. One one hand, the Bucks have the better superstar in reigning MVP Giannis Antetokoumpo.

However, the 76ers are more well-rounded with four star-caliber players in Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, the newly-acquired Al Horford, and Ben Simmons.

Our pick is Philly, just slightly. Beyond talent, this team's size will be tough to match up against. Playing for Boston last year, Horford was one of the few defenders that could go toe to toe with Embiid.

That mismatch is now gone and Embiid should be practically unguardable out East. He just has to stay healthy when it matters most, May and June.

Pick: 76ers (+220)

2020 NBA Championship Odds

For the first time in a long time, it feels like the NBA title could seriously go to five or six different teams and the NBA 2019-20 odds reflect that. Here's how online sportsbooks have the championship picture pegged:

  • Los Angeles Laker (+300)
  • Los Angeles Clippers (+350)
  • Milwaukee Bucks (+600)
  • Philadelphia 76ers (+750)
  • Houston Rockets (+850)
  • Golden State (+1000)

As we've alluded to, the NBA title most likely runs through the West. The gap in talent between the two conferences somehow keeps growing. It's not a stretch to think the West's fifth-best team could win the East, seriously.

Knowing that, our recommendation is to spread your money between a few Western Conference foes — namely the Clippers, Lakers, and Jazz.

This insures you against any injuries or just bad luck. But if you really want to lay it on one team and one team only, then the obvious choice is Clippers. No way we're betting against Kawhi after his unbelievable 2019 playoff run of historic proportions.

Pick: Clippers (+350)

Now all the remains is to drop a futures bet before the regular season begins. Any of our trusted partners below can help you with that — depositing money is quick and easy! Check them out for bettor-friendly odds!
