In the blink of an eye, another golf major has arrived and fans across the planet can't wait to see what will happen. This time around, everyone is excited for the U.S. Open to get here, with things all set to get started on Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2 over in North Carolina. So, who will end up winning the tournament? Entering the first round of play, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win the 2024 U.S. Open.
This isn't much of a surprise, as Scheffler is the top golfer in the world right now according to the latest rankings. "It's a good place to be. I like how my game is feeling right now," Scheffler said about how he's playing. "I feel like I've been playing some good golf. It has been great to see some results too. Rory McIlroy is our pick to win the 2024 U.S. Open
With things right around the corner, Rory McIlroy is our pick to win the 2024 U.S. Open. McIlroy, just like Scheffler, is one of the best golfers in the world and he's going to be ready to make a ton of noise this weekend in North Carolina. McIlroy is also playing with plenty of confidence, which he is hoping will translate to some strong play this weekend. McIlroy is quite consistent, which will need to be the case in the coming days too.
McIlroy is no stranger to this tourney too, as he previously won things in 2011. However, it's been 10 long years since McIlroy has won a major. Back in 2014, McIlroy won the Open Championship and the PGA Championship, which gave him a total of four majors wins in his career. Despite McIlroy being on a decade-long streak without grabbing some silverware at a major, a lot of people think he'll be able to put things to bed at the '24 U.S. Open.

Per the top golf betting sites, McIlroy has been set with +1100 golf odds to win the U.S. Open. Just like Scheffler, McIlroy is going to be facing a loaded field to try and win it all. He has his back against the wall a little bit, but we have a feeling that this will be the weekend when McIlroy is able to put everything together. Something else to keep in mind is that Xander Schauffele will be someone to watch at the U.S. Open as well. Schauffele also holds +1100 odds to win the U.S. Open and there are some analysts who think he has a better chance to win the tournament over both Scheffler and McIlroy. We're sticking with McIlroy as our pick, but Schauffele just won the PGA Championship recently and this came right after Scheffler won The Masters. So, can Schauffele add another title to his case and take down everyone else?
Schauffele is already having a memorable golf season, but he's looking to make things even better here. While both McIlroy and Scheffler are playing amazing golf right now, the exact same can be said about Schauffele. He didn't have the best odds leading up to the PGA Championship, but that didn't stop him from coming out on top and shooting a -21 over the weekend. Those stats were quite amazing.
In order for Schauffele to take down Scheffler and McIlroy, plus others, he's going to have to play at that high of a level again too. We'll have to wait and see just how he's able to perform, but there's a reason he has such strong odds: he's an unreal talent. Only time will tell how he does, and while we're going with McIlroy, Schauffele will be someone to keep a close eye on as well.
