D.C. United are one of the most popular Major League Soccer (MLS) teams thanks to their domination during the competition’s early years. “The Black & Red” have lifted the most trophies, winning the MLS Cup in 1996, 1997, and 1999, and lifting the Supporters’ Shield in 1997, 1999, 2006, and 2007. Another reason for DC United’s global fame is due to one of their former players. Freddy Adu signed for DC United aged only 14-years-old in January 2004. Three months after signing a professional contract, he made his debut for DC United. [+]

He came on as a substitute in a game against San Jose Earthquakes. In doing so, Adu became the youngest player in any professional sport since 1887 in the US.

How To Make Money On DC United

The biggest question on the lips of MLS fans is whether or not DC United can address their impoverished away form. If the answer is yes, we could see DC United flying high in the Eastern Conference and possibly getting their hands on another MLS trophy.

United have been poor on the road for a llong time. In 2016, they managed to win a mere two games in hostile territory. They did, however, gain a share of the spoils in nine of 17 road fixtures, the most away ties of any MLS outfit.

So there's definitely hope. When you're not consistently getting beat away from home in the MLS, you're doing something right. United finished fourth in the Eastern Conferene but fell in the first round of the playoffs in Montreal to an in-form Impact team. The result could have been entirely different had United earned home field advantage.

They lost only four games at home and are a force to be reckoned with at Audi Field. United conceded their fare share of goals and and are middle of the pack in terms of offensive production so betting the over is a good general rule of thumb until the situation changes.
