How To Bet NBA 2020 All-Star Game
The stars will align in Chicago for NBA All-Star weekend and we have a complete betting guide to the event. Make sure to read our advice on the Saturday contests and Sunday game before making a wager — you’ll thank us later!
2020 NBA All-Star game odds are out and there are four clear-cut betting front-runners in the skills events and the actual game, per online betting sites:
- Team LeBron; All-Star game (-205)
- Aaron Gordon; Slam Dunk Contest (+125)
- Damian Lillard; Three-Point Shooting Contest (+325)
- Spence Dinwiddie; Skills Challenge (+300)
We have free betting advice for the All-Star weekend, but before we get to that, check out all the welcome bonuses available right now. These deals can earn you hundreds, if not thousands, in free play dollars just for signing up for a sportsbook. Don't leave these great deals on the table!
NBA All-Star Game Betting Odds
Odds on the NBA All-Star Game 2020 are relatively close:
- Team LeBron (-210)
- Team Giannis (+165)
The star-studded duel tips off in Chicago on February 16. It's a rematch from a year ago when the same two players captained the All-Star teams, with Team LeBron winning by 14 points.
On paper, LeBron's team has the talent advantage this year. He'll be flanked by Anthony Davis, Luka Doncic, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard in the starting lineup. Giannis co-starters are Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakim, Kemba Walker, and Trae Young — a clear downgrade from LeBron's.
On a weekend that will be full of Kobe Bryant tributes, we expect the Lakers' co-stars of James and Davis to dominate in Black Mamba's memory. Bet heavy on a repeat victory from an emotional Team LeBron.
Betting pick: Team LeBron (-205)
NBA Slam Dunk Betting Odds
The staple event of Saturday night, here's the betting lines for the full field:
- Aaron Gordon (+125)
- Derrick Jones Jr. (+200)
- Pat Connaughton (+400)
- Dwight Howard (+500)
In a somewhat surprising twist, three of the contests are repeat entrants. Howard competed in three consecutive dunks contests between 2007-2009, winning it in 2008. Gordon showed out in 2016 and 2017, the latter of which also featured Jones Jr. (who finished runner-up). Only Connaughton is a first-time participant.
Look, all four of these guys can jump out of the gym. However, the slam dunk contest is more about creativity — using props, costumes, guests — than anything else.
In that department, Howard has the clear upper hand. Who remembers the Superman cape? The sticker? Howard has dramatically turned his career around this season and a slam dunk contest win feels like his official "I'm back" moment.
Betting pick: Howard (+500)
NBA Three-Point Shooting Contest Betting Odds
It's a whos-who list of competitors here, but the top betting favorites are currently:
- Damian Lillard (+325)
- Davis Bertans (+500)
- Duncan Robinson (+500)
- Trae Young (+500)
- Joe Harris (+500)
- Buddy Hield (+700)
Harris is the reigning champion, while Lillard and Young are in the midst of scoring-frenzy seasons (both are averaging almost 30 points per game). This is the type of event you might want to spread your money around to multiple players because it could go any direction.
If we have to pick one, we're going with Lillard. With at least 40 points in six of his past nine games, he's on an all-time hot streak. That hot hand will continue through All-Star weekend, where he's also a good pick at winning the NBA All-Star game MVP award.
Betting pick: Lillard (+500)
NBA Skills Challenge Betting Odds
Here are the event's top-five betting favorites at the moment:
- Spence Dinwiddie (+300)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+400)
- Pascal Siakum (+500)
- Jayson Tatum (+600)
- Khris Middleton (+600)
Tatum is the defending champion while betting favorite Dinwiddie won the 2018 challenge. However, we're picking Gilgeous-Alexander. The Thunder point guard is on a rapid ascent in year two of his career. Score, pass, dribble — he can do it all and that'll be on full display at this event.
Betting pick: Gilgeous-Alexander (+400)
