However, a club like Boro is fighting a losing battle when it can't score goals. Middlesbrough weren't any better at home, gaining 18 of a possible 57 points. That unenviable home record was another leading factor in the club's Premiere League demise. 

Does Middlesbrough have a chance to return after only one Championship season? It's quite possible, as they have the pedigree to match any team in England's first division. Also, the team's experience will be a massive benefit, so look for this team from the northeast to at least make the playoffs. They probably won't win the division but should be able to fight for promotion via the playoffs.
